If you can sew a straight(ish) line on a sewing machine, you can learn to machine piece and quilt. Like all skills it takes practice.
Yes, I like to do hand piecing and patchwork with only a needle and thread and a small pair of scissors. This is part of “the slow movement” and a wonderful way to meditate if you find stilling your inner self enough, for meditation or prayer.
Accuracy starts with good preparation of a pattern, careful cutting and measured machine work. Lots of practice also makes accuracy easier.
Sewing in general, and quilting specifically is a hobby that you can easily pack up and unpack unlike other hobbies that require paint to dry and dirty hands. Quilting is about the process and not so much about the product.
