Danél-Marie started quilting in 2006. The 2007 SAQG Alberton Quilt Festival convinced her that she found her art medium in textile!
Incorporating her background in art and music, she brings design and quilting alive, inspiring and motivating as she goes.
In 2011 her quilt “Landscape: a Colourful Palette” was exhibited at the Alette Wessels Kunskamer in Pretoria, South Africa as part of the solo exhibition by Pieter Janse van Rensburg.
Her art quilts have since been exhibited at the Pretoria Art Museum, Centurion Art Gallery and Pink House Gallery and travelled with the SAQG Travelling Exhibition and IQCSA.
Our family is like a patchwork quilt, with kindness gently sewn,
each piece is an original,
with beauty of it’s own,
With threads of warmth and happiness,
It’s tightly stitched together,
To last in love throughout the years
Our family is forever
